Black Lebanon – feminised line based on Lebanese landrace genetics
Black Lebanon is a feminised seed line derived from original Lebanese landrace genetics originating from the 1980s. According to the breeder, the line is based on two traditional Lebanese landraces, internally referred to as Black Lebanon #1 and Black Lebanon #5, which were selectively worked over several years to create a more consistent expression.
The breeding objective was to preserve the defining traits of classic Lebanese hash plants while improving structural uniformity and reproducibility within the line. The genetic orientation is clearly indica-dominant, with an emphasis on resin production, robustness and adaptation to warm, dry conditions.
Plants typically develop a compact to medium-sized structure. A notable visual trait is the dark foliage, with some individuals showing deep purple to nearly black coloration. This appearance is often accentuated by a pronounced layer of resin, creating a strong contrast between the dark plant material and the light trichome coverage.
Flower structure and aromatic profile
The flowers are described as dense and highly resinous. The aromatic profile is placed firmly in the traditional hash spectrum, combined with berry-like, fruity notes and a mildly earthy undertone. Compared to unrefined Black Lebanon landraces, this line is described as slightly more fruit-forward while maintaining its classic character.
Black Lebanon is positioned as a collector and preservation line for those interested in historically rooted Lebanese landrace genetics. It represents a stabilised, feminised interpretation of a traditional hash-producing lineage rather than a modern hybrid reinterpretation.
