GrandDaddy Purple by Barney’s Farm brings the California Purple Urkle x Big Bud foundation into a feminized line with a clearly indica-led build. The variety is shaped around a compact, bushy frame, broader leaf structure and flower formation that reads more through density, color and resin coverage than through length.
Indoors, GrandDaddy Purple remains easy to place at around 100 cm. Outdoors, Barney’s Farm lists about 180 cm, with the plant showing more strength through stance, side structure and flower mass than through heavy stretch. That frame fits the classic Purple-Indica direction cleanly.
The flowering window sits at 55 to 65 days. During that phase, the variety develops firm, rounded flowers with a dense surface, strong resin presence and, depending on conditions, violet to deep purple tones. With this compact structure, airflow and spacing between dense flower zones matter more than strong height correction.
The aromatic profile moves between sweet grape, berries, earthy depth and lightly spicy notes. Indoor yield is listed at up to 600 g per m², while outdoor plants can reach up to 1000 g per plant with a harvest window around the second to third week of October. The THC value is given at 25% and serves as a chemotype marker for the variety.
GrandDaddy Purple does not need to be pushed into modern dessert language. Its identity comes from origin, color, compact growth and a classic Purple signature: a lower indoor frame, short to medium flowering time, dense flower structure and a clearly fruit-earth profile.
