Critical Mass regular by Mr. Nice Seedbank is a line where the name comes straight from the plant. Shantibaba and Nevil reworked the old Big Bud direction around Afghan and Skunk #1 parentage, creating a regular old school hybrid built around flower weight, structure and practical breeding value.
The Afghan side gives Critical Mass density, weight and a firm lower frame. Skunk #1 adds more movement, more hybrid expression and a broader development pattern than a narrow indica line would usually show. Because these are regular seeds, individual plants can vary, but the central theme stays clear: a strong hybrid body with heavy flower sites and a classic genetic base.
This variety is not only interesting because of its pedigree. Its real signature is the way it carries mass. Critical Mass is known for exceptionally full buds that build weight early and sit close to the frame by the end of bloom. That strength also brings a practical point: very dense flowers need dry, well aired conditions, especially when humidity rises late in the cycle.
Mr. Nice lists indoor production at 650 to 750 g per m², with outdoor plants around 500 to 600 g per plant. The bloom window stays short for a regular photoperiod line of this weight, at roughly 45 to 55 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, outdoor harvest is placed toward late September, giving Critical Mass an earlier rhythm than many longer running old school cultivars.
The aroma sits in a classic space rather than a modern flavour trend. Skunk depth, Afghan earth and a slightly sweet base fit the heavy plant structure behind the line.
