Lao Highland Tribe regular by Khalifa Genetics
Sativa from the border areas of Laos / Myanmar / China
Highland jungle sativa that shows tremendous power. Cultivated by the members of the Akha tribal group, this sativa landrace from Northern Laos is both colorful and tasty. This rare Laotian highland breed is recommended to collectors, conservationists and breeders looking for outstanding vigor, mold resistance and unique flavors.
The fastest growing and vigorous landrace strain we've ever seen. This strain of ganja could also be one of the fastest flowering strains in all of Southeast Asia. The plants can get huge very quickly, but due to their relatively short flowering time, they are also quite easy to manage indoors.
The Akha tribe may have brought seeds to northern Laos from nearby Yunnan when they fled China in the early 20th century. That would explain why this sativa-looking strain also has some indica traits. In fact, the sweet creamy flavors, relatively short flowering time, and large trichome glands set it apart from most tropical ganja strains. It suggests a possible link between the Yunnan landraces and the high Southeast Asian sativas.
This sativa strain from the highland jungle produces large and very round seeds. The plants have broad leaflets in their first stages of vegetative growth. The leaflets then become narrower, although they remain wider than most tropical land races.
Unique characteristics
This strain can thrive in very poor soils. Therefore, the growing media shouldn't be too rich. Although the increase in height during flowering is extreme, the plants start to flower very early, after only 3 weeks.
Outdoor harvest: November to December.
Many plants turn light purple towards the end of their flowering cycle. The purple phenos tend to have deep berry flavors, while the green buds often smell more of flowers / vanilla.
Although rare, a small fraction of the green phenotypes have cloudy / citric noses.
- The taste is also very interesting as most of the flowers have a fruity / soapy and woody taste.
- The effectiveness of the flowers ranges from medium to strong, depending on the phenotype.
- It is initially a clean energetic effect that slowly transforms into calm and pleasant relaxation.
Bodhi, famous strain hunter and breeder, collected the seeds directly at the source during his 2014 seed safari in Yunnan China and northern Laos. A joint conservation project with Mitseedco enabled the Khalifa Genetics team to conserve this rare strain while improving its indoor sexual stability.
- This rare Laotian highland strain is recommended for collectors, conservationists, and breeders looking for extreme potency, mold resistance, and unique terpenes.
