Mazar-i-Sharif (World Famous) regular by Afghan Selection
This time this seed own her name to the city of Mazar-i- Sharif officially called Mazari Sharif and, Mazar-e-Sharif, or just Mazar is a city in Afghanistan and the capital of Balkh Province is the 4th largest city in Afghanistan. It was founded in the 12th century.
The town derives its name (meaning “tomb of the saint”) from the reputed discovery there of the tomb of the caliph ʿAlī, son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, in the 15th or (according to Afghan legend) 12th century.
Mazari Sharif plays an important role in Afghanistan. It is situated to the north of Kabul on the other side of the Hindukush mountain range and is accessible by means of the Salang Tunnel, situated at an altitude of almost 4000 m. It is not far from the border in the North with countries like Tadjikistan. It has always been an attractive city.
